Gabe grew up in the beautiful islands of The Bahamas. He was introduced to the sea at a young age and started boating at the age of 14 where he developed a passion for maritime and the marine life. At the age of 18, he moved to Canada to begin his studies and shortly after, spent a year at sea on commercial vessels traveling around South America and through The Panama Canal. After a year in the Merchant Marines, Gabriel ventured into yachting where he traveled to myriads of exotic destinations around the world. In 2019, Gabe spent two semesters studying Nautical Science at Warsash Maritime Academy where he achieved his Officers Of The Watch Unlimited License. Gabe has now been in yachting for the past seven years.
Gabe loves adding value to the dynamic team onboard STARSHIP. He has cruised both eastern and western Europe, South America, The Caribbean, and New England. Gabe hopes to achieve his MCA Master 3000 GT by 27 years old, and take his first command as captain at the age of 30. Outside of yachting, Gabe is passionately pursuing real estate.
In his spare time Gabe enjoys Mixed Martial Arts / Krav Maga, Cross-fit, Health & Fitness, reading, water sports, and listening to Jazz, Blues, Reggae at lounges.
Gabe brings a vibrant and safe atmosphere to STARSHIP and we are ecstatic to have him apart of the team.



Laphia Bromfield – Chef
Education/Certifications: Culinary Arts, Aeronautical Science

Laphia grew up in Black River, the capital of St Elizabeth Parish located on the southwest coast of Jamaica. This part of Jamaica is where most of the island's produce is grown. During Laphia’s childhood, she remembers playing in and around these crops and smelling fresh scallion and thyme for the first time. Her “grand grand” who was an incredible cook, shared her love of cooking with Laphia at a very young age and Laphia credits her as the reason she is the person that she is today.
Laphia entered the yachting industry about 9 years ago. She has previously worked onboard M/Y OCEAN CLUB, M/Y SPIRIT, M/Y QUEEN D, and M/Y HARLE. It brings her great joy to have the responsibility to keep everyone onboard well nourished. Due to her Caribbean background, Laphia’s food is very influenced by spices and Jamaican culture however, she is highly adaptable to fit any and every guest desire. She can cater to all palates and takes great pride in ensuring every need is catered to. After yachting, Laphia aspires to start her own business.
In her spare time, Laphia enjoys fitness and traveling but her greatest passion is making people happy with her food. Laphia wants every guest to leave the charter trying and liking something new.



Piyamas Phakdee - Chief Stew

PJ grew up on a farm in a very small town in Thailand. She always dreamed of becoming a traveler so one day, she decided it was time to become one. She started boating in 2004 on a cruise ship and switched to the yachting industry in 2013. PJ has since been onboard M/Y ODESSA, M/Y INCENTIVE, and more.
PJ has a vibrant energy, always bringing smiles and laughter to both the team and guests. She loves organizing unforgettable moments onboard leaving guests wanting to return sooner rather than later. PJ also loves sharing moments with kids so she can share her knowledge and help them understand the big world we live in.
In her spare time, PJ loves cooking, reading, yoga, hiking, diving, and other water activities. PJ can’t wait to welcome guests onboard 143’ STARSHIP for the trip of a lifetime.



Sarah lee Alcock –2nd Stewardess

Sarah grew up in Knysna, a small town in South Africa located right in front of the sea and lagoon. As a child, she and her brother who is also in yachting, spent the majority of their time on boats. Sarah first entered yachting in 2020 and hasn’t been back home since. She has always been fascinated with the industry after watching a number of her friends become yachties. When she finished studying for her BCom Degree, she decided to do her yachting courses and see what the yachting world was about.
Sarah brings along her love and dedication for being a Stewardess. She thrives off the fast pace and pressure this job entails and strives for perfection in everything that she does. Sarah loves serving and engaging with the guests, coming up with creative table settings, and teaching new aspiring stewardesses all the knowledge she has gathered this far. She is known to be a positive personality, keeping fellow crew members in high spirits throughout each day.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys running, swimming, kitesurfing, cross country cycling, sewing, knitting, playing field hockey, and socializing with friends.
Sarah wants guests to look at every table setting, every meal, every drink made, and the attention to detail given in their cabins and common areas, and be wowed at service and experience the crew has provided.



Aleah Nieder – 3rd Stew
Education/Certifications: B.S. in Sociology – University of Arizona, STCW, Security Awareness

Aleah grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta with her younger brother. As a kid, she would spend all of her time adventuring the outdoors. Her dad would often take them camping so she likes to say that she “grew up in the woods.” Prior to entering the yachting industry, Aleah worked as a barista and bartender in New York City. Last winter she participated in a work exchange program where she lived on a sailboat in the Virgin Islands. Being on the water 24/7 changed her life, she never wanted to go back on solid ground again. While living there, Aleah met people in the yachting industry and realized that she had never met people more passionate and in love with their jobs. This is when she knew she had to try it out for herself.
With the sea being Aleah’s favorite place in the world, yachting is a perfect match. She loves to be a listening ear and a compassionate heart, and carries these traits throughout her work. Creativity is something Aleah can execute best so be on the lookout for beautiful tablescapes and unforgettable themed nights to be a highlight while onboard.
Reading, traveling, creating and editing videos, cooking, snorkeling, and free diving are among the many things Aleah likes to do in her free time. She loves doing work exchanges where she is able to try new things and experience new cultures.
Aleah wants guests to be able to completely forget about the stress and worry of life and make beautiful memories with the people they love.



Renier Joubert - Chief Engineer (ROTATIONAL)

Certifications/Education: Qualified Automotive Machinist, STCW, AEC2, Survival craft and rescue boats

Renier grew up on a South African farm in Nelspruit with his two siblings. He first entered the yachting industry back in 2013. Always having a love for engineering and mechanics, he thought working on a yacht would allow him to see the world and further analyze how these amazing vessels operate. Prior to entering yachting, Renier was a qualified automotive machinist and later an auto technician specializing in BMW cars.
Onboard Renier has a “get it done no matter what” attitude. He has cruised most of the Caribbean, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and more. Eventually, he would like to start his own engineering company focused on yacht repairs and maintenance.

In his spare time, you can find Renier hunting, fishing or around fast cars. If time allows for them to make fire and cook some good meat, Renier is all smiles.
Renier is eager to welcome guests onboard STARSHIP for an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.



Martinus Godfrey Joubert – Engineer (ROTATIONAL)

Certifications/Education: Tool, Die and Jig maker, Fitter and turner, AEC
Languages: Afrikaans, English, Dutch

Martinus grew up on his family farm in South Africa where they farmed with livestock. His childhood consisted of lots of fishing and hunting with his younger brother before he started boating in 2013. Prior to entering yachting, Martinus completed trade school where he was a Floor Manager and a tradesman for a contracting company. He has also worked as a fitter and turner for a private industrial mining company where he maintained and repaired earth moving equipment for Caterpillar.
During his yachting career, Martinus has sailed the waters of Alaska, Mexico, Panama, the Caribbean, Bahamas, and more. His goal is to keep everything running as smooth as possible in any given circumstance.
When Martinus is not busy making sure the vessel is running smoothly, you can find him hunting fishing, or dirt biking. He welcomes all guests onboard STARSHIP to have the best stress-free experience of all time.



Brian Hopton – Bosun
Education/Certifications: Retailing and Computer Sciences – University of Arizona

Brian was born and raised 45 minutes north of LA in Woodland Hills. Always having a passion for travel, he decided to join the yachting industry in 2019. Prior to yachting, he was in the hospitality industry working for the Mariott for five years.
Onboard Brian is responsible for orchestrating and capturing all the fun that’s to be had. He is the videographer and photographer that provides guests with moments to last a lifetime. Currently, Brian is working towards his 100 ton USCG license.
In his spare time, you can find Brian golfing, surfing, playing pickleball, and did we mention golfing? Brain can’t wait to host his next guests to provide them with a new level of fun and discovery onboard 143’ STARSHIP.



Jacob “Rusty” Martino – Deckhand

Jacob grew up in Rochester, Pennsylvania. Rochester has a small-town feel with the Ohio river passing through. During his childhood Jacob was always at the river hanging out with friends, swimming, riding jet skis, or having a cookout. Jacob’s parents also had a boat as he was growing up so a lot of his time was spent on the water.
After graduating, he began a welding career but started to become complacent. Jacob realized that he wanted to travel, see the world, and experience different cultures. He didn’t want to spend the rest of his life going to the same spot every day. That’s when he decided to enter yachting. Jacob took his classes, quit his job, moved to Fort Lauderdale, and the rest is history. 
Jacob brings a fun and upbeat attitude to every charter. He is always ready for adventure and can’t wait for guests to experience new and exciting things. During his yachting career he wants to continue to see different parts of the world while meeting amazing new people along the way. He is also striving to achieve different levels of his captain's license.
While Jacob is not busy providing a one-of-a-kind experience on board, you can find him traveling to new places, hiking, riding his bicycle, or hunting.
