CAPTAIN - David Gies
David brings his 15+ years of yachting experience to the helm of Second Love. His time on yachts has logged him enough miles to circumnavigate the world eight times. He has cruised extensively on-board charter yachts in New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Bahamas and Alaska! Originally from Spokane, WA, he now calls the opposite corner of the US home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with his wife and son. His casual personality and easy-going attitude sets the tone for a happy team oriented crew onboard Second Love. David believes in the importance of details, safety and fun to provide for the ultimate charter experience.

FIRST OFFICER - Andrew Orosz
Andrew was born in Burbank, Ohio on a small horse farm. He developed a love for the sea during his summers fishing and surfing at his grandparent’s house in Folly beach, South Carolina. In 2017, he joined a sailboat in the Bahamas chartering Grand Bahama, Abacos, and Eleuthera islands. From there Andrew’s career has taken him to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Central America, and Alaska. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, surfing and photography. Andrew will ensure your time onboard will be memorable with a variety of water sports and activities to suit your needs.

BOSUN - Michael Rademeyer
Michael hails from a small town in the heart of Zimbabwe. Growing up in Zimbabwe you always have a keen sense of outdoor adventure. After school he obtained his degree and went on to run and operate a small business. This proved to be a stepping-stone to enable him to achieve his goal of getting into the yachting industry. He has been in the yachting industry for over 3.5 years now and has traveled all over the world but always finds his feet back in America. He is a keen motorsport fanatic who grew up racing and obtained 5 Zimbabwe National Karting titles and was lucky enough to represent his country in 2 different world championship events, but when there’s no tarmac he makes use of the seas, social golf, squash and other activities to keep him going.

DECKHAND - Neil Smith
Neil comes from a small seaside town of Port Shepstone, in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Growing up on the beach, he has spent most of his life surfing, lifeguarding, as well as graphic design/multimedia alongside his twin brother Wayne. Neil is an active and social individual, and after getting married to his wonderful partner Cara, he then decided to pursue his dream to work hard, and travel the world with his wife, and in the process find the best coffee each country had to offer, and yachting became the perfect fit for him to achieve this. Neil prides himself on the ability to perfect everything he does.

ENGINEER - Richard Maitland
Richard was born and raised in the beautiful island of Jamaica. He developed a love for engineering very early while working with his father who is a diesel mechanic. Richard then went on to study Marine engineering at Caribbean Maritime University in Jamaica where he received his marine engineering license in 2013. Since then, Richard has sailed in the capacity of third, second and chief engineer aboard various vessels, including private yachts and commercial ships. Richard enjoys learning new languages, playing football, snorkeling, listening to music and trying new cuisines.

Tessa comes from the small agricultural town of Sterkstroom, in the heart of the Eastern Cape, South Africa where she grew up on a farm. She then attended boarding school from the age of six before following her desire to explore the world and experience different cultures. This pursuit of travel eventually led her to yachting where she has spent the last four years cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and the Bahamas. Tessa has a great sense of adventure and is always eager for new experiences. Tessa continually strives to provide the highest standard of guest care and prides herself in ensuring your experience aboard M/Y Second love is seamless and unforgettable. When not on board, Tessa enjoys horseback riding, hiking, painting, and water sports.

Nai’a was raised on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. In the Hawaiian language, her name means dolphin. This couldn’t be more fitting when considering her deep love for the ocean. She enjoys surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and anything else that gets her out in the waves. Starting her first job in the hospitality industry at age 14, Nai’a’s experience includes managing one of Hawaii’s most popular catering companies, and being the lead barista and pastry chef at a well renowned authentic French bakery in Seattle. Her passion for taking care of people combined with her strong work ethic and determination to provide and enjoyable experience makes her a great addition to the Second Love team.

Kelsy is from sunny San Diego. She has been in the hospitality industry for the last 10 years and recently decided to change her surroundings. Her love for the ocean, adventure and cultivating amazing experiences inspired her to join the world of yachting where she can combine her skills and passions. Kelsy is the oldest of 3 sisters, growing up her parents showed her much of the world through charity work and that’s where she started her passion for helping others and traveling. She’s now excited to start the new chapter on motor yacht Second Love. When Kelsy is not on the boat she enjoys practicing yoga, painting, and cooking.
