QUEST (Full refit 2018)

6 guests, 4 Showers, 4 Wash Basins
Quest is a custom-built 1991 Alex Simonis catamaran that is equally at home voyaging through open ocean swell or being an adventure platform in a secluded bay. She is a drop-dead gorgeous boat that turns heads wherever she goes. Her airy interior is inviting, with plenty of light to compliment the grain of the well-appointed wood. Her staterooms exhibit homey comfort, with plush bedding and cozy nooks that make it hard to get up in the morning. With ample seating around tables in the salon and cockpit, Quest is the perfect place to relax, socialize, or party. There is even space for yoga or launching a kite. Sailing remarkably well, Quest dances through the waves. She is a joy to sail, and brings smiles to the faces of even the most experienced sailors. She is also incredibly safe, making her the perfect boat for families and first-time sailors alike. Quest is truly a wonder to behold. She is a work of art, a dream come true, and an absolute joy to sail. If you are looking for an unforgettable sailing experience, then Quest is the boat for you.

Captain Nestor-

Nestor grew up in and around the ocean. Born in Culebra, Puerto Rico he lived on his first sailboat, a Cape Dori 19, with his family at the age of 9.

His love of boats grew from there as he began racing hobbies, crewing in regattas, working on boat deliveries, and sailing around Culebra in whatever ship he may have pirated for the day.

He found a love of classic boats when he purchased his first live aboard 1963 Pearson Alberg 35, and began the cruising life in the Spanish, US, and British Virgin Islands. Completing his captains license in 2018 he began doing day charters and fishing charters out of his home port.

Nestor loves to share his local knowledge and experience of Caribbean cultures, taking people to unknown places on the roads less traveled, and creating unforgettable experiences.

When he was 17, he found surfing and it completely changed his life, “There is nothing like the feeling of making the drop and flying down the line carving out your own unique path, each time being one of a kind. I've lived in Australia, Switzerland, the US, and mainland PR, but am always most at home on a boat in the ocean with my surf boards and Annabelle.”

He loves fishing of any kind, sailing, good food, free diving, reggae music, Rastafarian culture, travel, and a good project. He dreams of circumnavigating the world, of single-handed passages, of conquering fears, and sailing to distant lands to experiencing new cultures.

Chef Annabelle-

Annabelle Joy is from a small town on the Hudson River in upstate New York. Her passion for all things water related started at a very young age. A mermaid at heart, she became a children’s swim lesson instructor at the YMCA, a NY State lifeguard, and eventually an aquatics director for a local hotel.

Her thirst for adventure and seeing new places eventually brought her to Puerto Rico. With a dream, a tent and $100 to her name, she moved to Culebra where she fell in love (both with the island and with a boy). It was there that she found her passion for food and opened her own healthy breakfast and lunch café called Vibra Verde (Green Vibe) with her partner Nestor.

Annabelle made it her mission to mix traditional dishes with island flavors to give a Caribbean flare to her healthy, fresh, high quality, homemade food and teach the community that just because it’s good for you, doesn’t mean it can’t taste incredible!

A practicing yogi for over 20 years, Annabelle spent the last year completing a yoga mentorship, and now teaches yoga to students of all levels and backgrounds focusing on creating a safe space for students to explore their relationship to their mind, body, and breath.

When she isn’t in the kitchen or on the yoga mat, you’ll find Annabelle editing videos for the duo’s YouTube channel that documents their sailing adventures, Vibra Verde Sailing, sailing, fishing, snorkeling, hiking, and generally enjoying life and all its adventures.

Annabelle and Nestor both have over 20 years each of experience in the bar and restaurant industry, working as servers, bartenders managers and chefs in some of the most upscale and well known restaurants of Culebra, PR. In 2012 they took their experience in the service industry and passion for food and opened one of Culebra number one restaurants, Vibra Verde. Specializing in fresh, organic, high quality ingredients they combined traditional foods with Caribbean flavors and vibes to create an amazing culinary experience.
