Name: Matt Conroy
Position: Captain
Nationality: Australian
Description:
PREVIOUS YACHTS: M/Y SEAHORSE, M/Y BRANZINO, M/Y OCEANA
MATT HAS CRUISED: The South Pacific (Solomon Islands), Australian East Coast, The Mediterranean & Ionian Sea
Matt grew up in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney, called the Sutherland Shire.
Prior to entering the yachting industry, Matt’s experience was built around commercial fleet management, marine maintenance and vessel construction. His deeply felt passion for boats and the sensation of being in the ocean brought him opportunities to start working on superyachts, marrying travel and meeting some of the most interesting Owners & guests on the planet.
It is no surprise then, that Matt’s favourite experience is scuba diving! Protecting the ocean’s playground becomes therefore natural, and Australia features some of the most fabulous waters according to Matt. His preferred cruising grounds personally include the Amalfi Coast in Italy, Sardinia or Corsica. As a young dynamic person Matt is also very enthusiastic to take guests on any watersport adventure. When he is not on board MOHASUWEI, Matt’s hobbies include food, photography, and… travel.
KIRSTEN HAS CRUISED: The South Pacific and Pacific Crossings (Coral Sea, Timor Sea),
Australia: East and West Coast (Great Barrier Reef, Sydney,
Ningaloo Reef); The Mediterranean, Panama Canal,
Galapagos Corridor, Gulf of California
Kirsten joined the Owners of MOHASUWEI in November 2017, in her hometown of Sydney, after 6 years in the superyacht industry. Growing up, she was lucky to go sailing with her grandparents and discovered many pockets of the Great Barrier Reef.
Kirsten moved from Sydney to the Whitsunday Islands in 2012 (Australia’s archipelago with closest access to the Great Barrier Reef), where she became acquainted with the superyacht industry locally and then travelled to the Mediterranean to start her career.
“I enjoy working on superyachts as it allows me to travel the world and explore amazing and often remote places, working alongside like-minded crew. In yachting, everyday is different and experiences are often once in a lifetime.” She is a keen diver, and one of her best experiences occurred as a Stewardess during a long voyage from Raja Ampat (Indonesia) to Seattle (USA). The Owners were extreme lovers of the oceans’ depths, and she has the opportunity to dive in incredible sites throughout Papua New Guinea, Truk Lagoon, the Marshall Island, or Hawai. Aside from taking extremely good care of the guests on board always with a warm smile, Kirsten enjoys hiking and travelling to new countries, and who could tell she is passionate about shark diving! Ocean conservation is also one of her favourite subjects.

Recent feedback post-inspection from experienced charter broker, N&J Fort Lauderdale:
"MOHASUWEI (& Captain Matt): Very charter friendly layout and look. Although it’s a 2009, feels brand new with the refit they did. Solid choice and good job by the Owner! Great photography artwork throughout. Very open concept, contemporary feel throughout. High ceilings! VIP below can convert to a twin/double, creating a 2nd master if desired. Cinema room also a nice touch! Also, the boat has a nice tender (large, great condition). This yacht feels like a charter yacht, and the Captain and crew were very accommodating, friendly and professional. "
Charterer Feedback, New Year's Eve in Sydney, Dec 2018:

Will definitely see you again soon.
Happy New Year to all of you.
All the best, F."

The Akhir 108 series presents a range of 32.96 metre motor yachts built with a composite hull and superstructure considered to be the hallmark of Cantieri di Pisa. Naval architecture and interior design is the work of Cantieri di Pisa while the exterior design by Carlo Galeazzi refreshes the lines sketched by Pierluigi Spadolini over 30 years earlier.
The Akhir semi-custom range began in the 1970s and each series features the same original design philosophy; high-performance planning hulls with unmistakable design. All recent builds feature hulls, superstructures and fibreglass components built by Gruppo Baglietto Tunisia.
