Born in Miami and raised along the south coast of Brazil, Captain Alvaro cultivated a passion for the ocean at an early age. His fondest childhood memories are sailing and cooking with his family. These memories fueled his career as a Captain and professionally trained chef. Working a variety of roles from deckhand and chef to captain on yachts ranging from 20m sailing yachts to 40m motor yachts, Captain Alvaro’s yachting background is as diversified as his cuisine. Captain Alvaro’s cuisine is influenced by the blend of many cultures and his love for sharing a meal. In 2015, Captain Alvaro graduated from Florida International University with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
